This article explains how Spaace Tournaments work and answers the most common questions about them.

Tournaments are special, limited-time trading events.

They are not always live and do not follow a fixed schedule.

Most current and upcoming tournaments are rewarded in dollars ($SPAACE tokens), but some events may still use XP rewards.

What is a Spaace Tournament?

A tournament is a short competitive event where traders are ranked based on their BUY trading volume on Spaace during a specific period.

When a tournament is active:

  • All eligible BUY trades on Spaace are counted.

  • Traders are ranked on a global leaderboard.

  • At the end of the event, the leaderboard is frozen and rewards are attributed.

Participation is automatic.

When a tournament is active, all eligible users are automatically included by trading on Spaace.

What rewards can I earn?

💰 Dollar-based tournaments (current standard)

Most new tournaments distribute rewards in USD value, paid in $SPAACE tokens.

Example:

  • “$50,000 in rewards”

  • Rewards are calculated in dollars and will be distributed in $SPAACE tokens

  • Distribution happens later (not instantly at tournament end)

These tournaments are designed for high-impact competitive events and larger prize pools.

How long do tournaments last?

Tournaments usually last a few days.

Tournaments are:

  • Time-limited

  • Not always live

  • Not on a fixed schedule

There is no fixed frequency, and the next tournament may start at any time.

How does the ranking work?

Rankings are based on your total BUY trading volume during the tournament period.

In simple terms:

  • The more you trade, the higher you rank.

  • Only trades executed during the tournament window are counted.

  • Rankings reset at the start of each new tournament.

Detailed ranking logic (tie-breakers)

When two or more users have a similar activity level (same volume), additional rules are applied to determine the final ranking.

Ranking is determined in the following order:

  1. Total BUY trading volume (ETH)

The user with the highest total BUY volume during the tournament ranks higher.

  2. Number of BUY trades

If two users have the same trading volume, the user who completed more BUY trades ranks higher.

  3. XP earned during the tournament period

If both volume and number of trades are equal, the user who earned more XP during the tournament window (from any Spaace activity) ranks higher.

These rules ensure that the leaderboard remains fair and deterministic, even in edge cases.

Where can I track my tournament activity?

You can:

  • Follow the live leaderboard while the tournament is active.

  • See your current rank and trading volume.

  • Review past tournaments and final rankings.

Are tournaments mandatory?

No.

Tournaments are optional and do not affect your ability to:

  • complete quests

  • progress through the Battle Pass

  • earn XP normally

They are an extra opportunity to earn bonus XP.

⭐ XP-based tournaments (legacy / occasional)

Earlier tournaments distributed XP rewards:

  • XP was added instantly at the end of the event

  • XP stacked with quests, Battle Pass, and all other progression systems

Spaace may alternate between XP tournaments and dollar tournaments, depending on the event.

Each tournament has its own rules. Most of the time it's limited to 50-100 winners only.

When and how is XP distributed?

XP distribution is automatic.

When the tournament ends:

  1. The final leaderboard is calculated.

  2. Ranking tie-breakers and volume requirements are applied.

  3. XP rewards are assigned.

  4. XP appears immediately in your profile.

There is nothing to claim manually.

Key things to remember

  • Tournaments are limited-time events

  • Only BUY volume on Spaace counts

  • Rankings are based on volume, with clear tie-breakers

  • XP earned is bonus XP, added to your existing XP

  • Reward structures can change from one tournament to another

  • Rankings reset for each tournament

If a tournament is live, it will always be visible on the Spaace platform.
